Guachipelin Adventure Tours

Hotel Hacienda Guachipelin is a truly ecotourism lodge for adventure travel and nature lovers, surrounded by lush gardens with native trees, exotic flowers and many types of birds and it has views to both the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano and the Pacific Ocean. 

For the adventurer there are many activities in the lodge like horseback riding, the Canyon canopy tour, Rio Negro Tubing Adventure, bird watching, as well as trekking to the active craters of the Rincon de la Vieja Volcano.

Colonial Granada, Nicaragua

The oldest in Central America, founded by the Spanish conqueror Francisco Hernandez de Cordoba in 1524. Colonial buildings and churches in the Baroque style alternate with those in the Renaissance style of the 16th century. From the city Granada, we move to Lake Nicaragua for a boat ride to the Isletas. Lunch at colonial restaurant, Granada city tour and shopping at Masaya will make your trip an unforgettable one.

Arenal Volcano & Hot Spring

Monteverde Selvadura

Deep Sea Fishing

We troll for big game fish from 10 to 40 miles offshore. The catch year round includes: Sailfish, Black Marlin, Blue Marlin, Striped Marlin, Dorado, Roosterfish, Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna and Shark. 

Live bait techniques are used and we also troll artificial lures and teasers. All fishing gear and tackle are provided. Customers decide if they catch and release or keep some fish to be prepared for dinner at the hotel.

Diving

Our local divers offer schools of thousands of yellow tail snapper and grunts at almost every site.

Reef fish species are a blend of Pacific varieties not encounters in the Caribbean waters, like frog fish, sea horses, harlequin shrimp, moorish idol, banded guitar fish, cortes and angel fish, octopus and uncountable species of moray eels. Big animals encountered by divers include manta rays, spotter eagle rays, nurse shark, jewfish and whale sharks.

Exceptions but very well worth the 1hour ride are the Catalina Islands where we have seen manta rays schooling, white tip sharks, turtles, shools of amberjacks, eagle rays and many more. 

A two hour boat ride will take you to the Bat Island (Murcielagos) scenery of impressive big bull sharks from 8 to 12 ft, schools of cow-nosed rays, eagle rays along with varieties of larger fish, rainbow runners, horse-eye jacks, and spade fish.

Sunset Cruise

Join us for a sail trip aboard our 68ft “Elanga”, equipped with safety equipment and bathroom. The best way of relaxing on your vacation is to join us for a beautiful Guanacaste Sunset Cruise. During the 3 hour sailing trip we will be accompanied by dolphins and lots of fish. Sit-back and watch the “Colourful” sunset! While sipping a cold beer or soft drink and enjoying our light snacks.

ATV’S TOUR

A way of exploring a forest in Guanacaste is by taking a tour on quadro cycle or a 4 wheels ATV. The two hour guided tour passes first through the local village of Panama.

Then your guide will leas you up and down hills, through rivers and into the dense jungle….and through sugar cane fields. On many occasion we’re accompanied by Howler monkeys different species of birds and butterfly.

Feel like and adventurer and enjoy the thrill of driving a quad!

JETSKI RENTAL & TOURS

Adventurers who love the water will enjoy the guided ride on a jet ski which takes you to some of the most beautiful beaches of the gulf. You might even spot dolphins and turtles while going from one beach to another.

Snorkeling Sail Boat

Join us for a sail trip aboard our 68 ft “Elanga” equipped with safety equipment and bathroom. Our 4 hours sail cruise takes you along the Pacific Coast of Costa Rica, in the Gulf of Papagayo. You will spot beautiful clear sand beaches, coves, rock formations and all the natural cave to explore at low tide. You have ample time to enjoy the beach and swim or snorkel.

Palo Verde

This visit will consist of a boat ride through the dramatic mangroves, swamps forest, saltwater and freshwater lagoons marshes, and both deciduos and evergreen forest of the Palo verde National Park. Birds are the biggest attraction at Palo Verde National Park; in the wet season the floodwaters of the tempisque River, welcome migrant birds from north and south America. The mamal fauna is equally rich and visible particularly during the dry season. Duration: 1/2 day.
